The Wrocław Section of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a scientific institution of thirty years research expe-rience, working in Silesia and Western Pomerania. One of many tasks of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences is conducting the supervision of construction works and rescue archaeological excavations in areas covered by the protection of the local conservator's office. The highly qualified staff are the guarantee of competent technical and scientific monitoring of earthworks (as-sociated with preparation of a given plot for future development, investment etc.). The range of services include conducting archaeological excavation (producing de-scriptive, drawing and photographic documentation, and computer data processing), complex developing the results of archaeological excavations with regard to histori-cal-architectural issues and specialist analyses results (anthropological, archaeozoo-logical, dendrochronological, petrographic, geomorphologic etc.), conducting scienti-fic consultation by research staff. The confirmation of the high qualifications of the scientific personnel are the numerous studies of materials from rescue excavations, rich publication histories, including monographs, studies and source reports, disser-tations, dictionary and encyclopaedia references, research projects carried out under the framework of research tasks and programmes of the KBN (State Committee for Scientific Research).
